CE Compliance
Important Information for CE Compliance

- Each licensee has an individual renewal date which is renewed every two years.
- All licensees, with few exceptions , must show
22 1/2 hours of approved continuing education as a condition of renewal. Effective July 1, 2008,
renewals must include at least 3 hours of fair housing.
- You should not renew your license without the required continuing education credits.
- If your license expires before you can complete the continuing education
requirements, you won't lose your license. It will simply be suspended until
the course requirements are met.
- If your license has expired for more than two years, you will have to take
the New York State exam again, but you will not have to retake the prelicensing
courses in order to renew your license.
- License renewal takes several weeks to process -- send in your renewal at
least one (1) month before expiration.
Those exempt from the continuing
education requirement are: attorneys; those licensed for 15 consecutive years
or more and are brokers or broker associates at the time of renewal.
